Welcome to the Flint Citywide Poetry Slam—a celebration of voice, truth, and the power of words echoing across every corner of our city. 

This slam belongs to Flint. It belongs to the young poet finding their voice for the first time, the seasoned writer sharpening their craft, and everyone in between who believes that stories deserve to be heard out loud. For one incredible experience, our city becomes a stage—where rhythm meets resilience, language sparks connection, and community speaks back. To honor the full spectrum of our voices, the Flint Citywide Poetry Slam is hosted across multiple venues, creating spaces that are intentional, accessible, and welcoming. 

We proudly offer all-ages venues where youth and families can experience the magic of spoken word together, alongside separate adult-only venues that allow artists the freedom to explore mature themes with honesty and depth. No matter where you enter, the mission is the same: bold expression, mutual respect, and the understanding that every voice matters. This is not just a competition—it’s a gathering. A citywide call to listen, to feel, and to celebrate what happens when Flint speaks its truth. Step into the circle. Take the mic or take a seat.
